Open for Plan. Close for Elevation.
Usually, I want the 2D look open doors on plan view, amd 3D look closed doors on elevation view. As SketchUp Scenes doesn’t reconized the click behavior, and in order to achieve it, I need to double the door, put on 2 separated layers. Layer OPEN and Layer CLOSED. Would be great if your planview feature can be reconized by scenes OR having the double layer system in your DC.

This is a great idea that we’ve been mulling over for quite a while.
To connect between the planview and scenes via ruby is possible but very difficult, and it won’t work eventually in Layout.
We could create a second door on a separate layer (tag) that will be in the open position at all times and you could show/hide it with layers. Till now we’ve avoided this because it would add quite a bit to the file size of each component… but perhaps the benefit will be greater than the file size issue.
For which components do you think we’d need this?
I think only for doors, casements and the bifold?
Would you need this for sliders? Hopper/Awning?
